This product is made in China but it definitely has Nikon quality. I love my Nikon D7000.I bought the camera/lens combo from Amazon - the price was out of my comfort zone, around 1400.00, but once I took my first batch of photos, I knew I'd made a wise decision (thank you, Ken Rockwell, for your recommendation). This is a great lens for portraits and creating shallow depth of field. I wont be surprised if the price tag on this lense is increased in the near future, so I maybe getting one more, or perhaps two. I think Nikon is almost giving this one away for the price.
